Imogene Haley, 95, Killed in Monrovia Crash on Eastbound 210 Freeway
MONROVIA, CA (June 24, 2021) – Imogene Haley was killed after a DUI crash on the 210 Freeway in Monrovia.
The coroner’s office identified the 95-year-old Temple City woman as one of the victims in the wreck which occurred on Wednesday.
The incident happened when Imogene Lea Haley was riding as a passenger in a 2008 Lexus ES350 going east on the 210 Freeway in Monrovia.
The Lexus then slowed down due to slower traffic. A 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck traveling in the carpool lane approached and slammed into the rear of the Lexus.
The California Highway Patrol said the impact forced the Lexus into a 2013 Ford F-150 which collided with a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe in front. The Tahoe ultimately rear-ended a 2017 Mazda 3.
Several Injured in DUI Collision Near Huntington Drive
The Lexus spun out of control from the initial collision and was hit by several vehicles near Huntington Drive. Patch and My News LA wrote that the accident took place on June 23 at around 3 p.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced Imogene Haley dead at the scene of the Monrovia crash. The female driver of the Lexus died at a hospital.
Meanwhile, the man driving the Silverado complained of pain to his legs as a result of the wreck. Medical personnel also treated multiple other patients hurt following the collision.
CHP later determined that he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs when he hit the victims. They soon arrested him on suspicion of DUI.
