Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Imperial Beach Crash on 13th Street Near Donax
IMPERIAL BEACH, CA (February 4, 2022) – A crash seriously injured a pedestrian pushing a stroller on 13th Street in Imperial Beach.
According to an article published by the San Diego Union-Tribune, the accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the collision at about 2 p.m.
The sheriff’s department said a vehicle struck a female pedestrian for an unknown reason in Imperial Beach. She was hit while pushing a stroller on 13th Street near Donax Avenue.
Driver Hits Woman Pushing Stroller
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene, about a block south of Palm Avenue. They found the woman down on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took her to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded victim and her condition at this time.
Meanwhile, deputies affirmed that the child in the stroller ended up unharmed following the collision. The driver stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the woman.
Officers forced a stretch of 13th Street to shut down after the incident. The cause of the Imperial Beach pedestrian accident is still under investigation.
