1 Killed, 2 Seriously Injured in Imperial County Crash at Highway 115 and Keystone Road
IMPERIAL COUNTY, CA (September 26, 2022) – A crash killed one person and seriously injured two others at Highway 115 and Keystone Road in Imperial County.
According to an article published by The Desert Review, the tragic accident took place last week on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at around 1:30 p.m.
The incident happened on September 23 when a Ford F-550 was going north on Highway 115, approaching Keystone Road, in Imperial County.
For an unknown reason, the Ford made a left turn onto Keystone. A black 2015 Dodge Challenger traveling in the area veered to the right and then off the highway.
2 Cars Involved in Wreck
The California Highway Patrol said three Buckeye, Arizona residents were riding the Dodge. In the process, the Challenger rolled over multiple times.
A passenger in the Dodge, a 22-year-old man, died at the scene. The 18-year-old woman driving the same car and a third occupant, a 22-year-old man, sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
An air ambulance flew the driver to the Desert Memorial Hospital for treatment. A ground ambulance rushed the other patient to the Pioneer’s Memorial Hospital.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Highway 115 and Keystone Road to shut down for a time following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Imperial County crash is still under investigation.
