1 Killed, 4 Seriously Injured in Imperial County Crash at State Route 86 and Norm Niver
IMPERIAL COUNTY, CA (February 7, 2022) – A crash killed one person and injured several others at State Route 86 and Norm Niver Road in Imperial County.
According to an article published by The Desert Review, the tragic accident took place on Sunday. Officers reported the wreck on February 6.
The incident began when a 2009 Chevrolet Traverse was going west on Norm Niver Road at State Route 86 in Imperial County.
At the same time, a 2008 Dodge Avenger was traveling south on SR-86 at Norm Niver. For an unknown reason, the two collided in the intersection.
2 Cars Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the 15 Freeway. They found a total of five people who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
All five patients sustained major injuries following the wreck. Medical personnel then took them to hospitals where one of them died.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, officers forced the area of State Route 86 and Norm Niver to shut down after the collision.
The cause of the fatal Imperial County crash is still under investigation.
