5 Injured in Indio Crash at Calhoun Street and Avenue 48
INDIO, CA (April 16, 2022) – Several were injured after a car crash at Calhoun Street and Avenue 48 in Indio.
According to an article published by The Desert Sun, the accident took place on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 3:07 p.m.
The Riverside County Fire Department said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Indio. They crashed at the intersection of Calhoun Street and Avenue 48.
2 Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Coachella festival. They found a total of five people who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Two patients sustained moderate injuries while the other three survived with minor injuries. Medical personnel took them to hospitals for treatment.
A sixth person involved declined transportation. The report did not release the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, officers forced the corner of Calhoun Street and Avenue 48 to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Indio crash is still under investigation.
