Driver Killed, Passenger Critical in Wrong-Way Crash at Avenue 42 and Jackson Street Thursday
Indio, CA (May 27, 2021) – One person died, and another suffered injuries following a car accident in the area of Avenue 42 and Jackson Street.
The KESQ News reported a small car was seen driving on the wrong side of Avenue 42nd at about 7 a.m. Thursday. When the small car approached the intersection at Jackson Street, it collided with a pickup truck.
The force from the impact caused the pickup to crashed with the vehicle behind it. At the moment, the make and model of the third car involved in the wreck have not been revealed.
When emergency crews arrived, they immediately rendered aid to all parties found at the scene. The article published online indicated the driver of the small car sustained serious injuries. Because of their condition, paramedics rushed the man to a local hospital. The driver later succumbed to his injuries and died.
Meanwhile, the passenger in the small car survived the incident with major trauma. The name of the patient, and their condition at this time remained unknown.

Officers mentioned the drivers of the other vehicles received treatment at the site for minor wounds, and small scratches.
Our sources said police shut down the intersection of Avenue 42 and Jackson Street to give way to the investigation process. Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to work at this time to determine several factors surrounding the fatal car accident in Indio.
