Pedestrian Killed in Crash on Indio Boulevard Near Van Buren Street
INDIO, CA (August 25, 2022) – A crash killed a pedestrian Indio Boulevard near Van Buren Street in the city.
According to The Desert Sun and My News LA, the tragic accident took place Tuesday night. Officers reported the collision shortly after 11:30 p.m.
Indio police said the incident happened on August 24 when a Toyota Scion struck a male pedestrian. Police said the car hit him on Indio Boulevard near Van Buren Street.
Man Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found the man down on the ground. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the incident.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police added that the driver of the Toyota stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the man .The cause of the fatal crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced a stretch of Indio Boulevard to shut down for a time following the pedestrian accident.
