Two Motorists Killed in California City Head-on Crash
CALIFORNIA CITY, Calif. (October 6, 2022) – Inez Figueroa-Villegas, 66, of California City, is one of two drivers killed in a head-on crash at California City and Yerba boulevards in California City.
Airam Betzay Delgado Martinez, 22, of Palmdale, is the second driver who died in the collision about 6:15 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1st, according to The Bakersfield Californian and Kern Golden Empire,
The two drivers were in a 2017 Chevrolet and a 2021 Toyota that collided head-on for an unknown reason.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and both motorists were pronounced dead at the scene. Also, there was a third person who was injured in the collision and transported to a hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, police are investigating whether speed and alcohol played a role in the incident. Officers forced the area of California City and Yerba to shut down for a time following the wreck.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the police at 760-373-8606.
