1 Killed, 2 Injured in Irvine Crash 5 Freeway Near Jamboree Road
IRVINE, CA (September 24, 2022) – A crash killed one person and injured two others on the 5 Freeway near Jamboree Road in Irvine.
According to The Orange County Register and FOX 11 News, the tragic accident took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 4:05 a.m.
The incident happened when two cars collided for an unknown reason in the city of Irvine. The vehicles crashed on the southbound 5 Freeway near Jamboree Road.
Cars, Big Rig Collide
The California Highway Patrol said a semi-truck approached and then slammed into one of the cars involved. In the process, the big rig rolled over and caught fire.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and pronounced a man dead at the scene. Two people ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed both patients to hospitals and listed them in stable condition. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, officers forced the southbound lanes of the 5 Freeway to shut down for a time near Jamboree following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Irvine crash is still under investigation.
