1 Killed , 2 Injured in Irvine Crash on 5 Freeway at Yale Avenue
IRVINE, CA (June 13, 2021) – A car crash killed one person and injured at least two others on the 5 Freeway in Irvine.
According to an article published by My News LA, the tragic accident took place on Sunday morning. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 5:30 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol said at least three vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Irvine. They crashed on the northbound 5 Freeway at Yale Avenue.
Multiple Vehicles Collide in Irvine
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and then confirmed that one individual died as a result of the collision. Two more people sustained unspecified injuries upon impact.
Medical personnel soon took both patients to the Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana for treatment. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Irvine crash is still under investigation.
