Isabella Herrera, 22, ID’d as Suspect in Vista Fatal DUI Crash
VISTA, CA (February 26, 2023) – Authorities detained Isabella Herrera after a fatal DUI crash on State Route 78 in Vista.
The California Highway Patrol determined that the Oceanside woman was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck occurred on Sunday.
The incident began when Isabella Herrera was driving a Buick Verano east on State Route 78 in Vista. At the same time, a Chevrolet HHR became disabled in the center median.
The male driver of the Chevrolet exited and stood outside his car as he tried to change the tire. CHP said the 22-year-old woman approached and in the process hit the disabled vehicle.

The motorist then struck the man, just east of Emerald Drive. The San Diego Union Tribune and CBS 8 News wrote that the accident took place on February 26 at around 10:20 a.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
The reports added that Isabella Herrera sustained moderate injuries as a result of the crash. Medical personnel rushed her to a hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, CHP soon arrested Isabella Herrera on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI. Officers forced the eastbound lanes of State Route 78 to shut down following the wreck.
