Bicycle Rider Injured in Isla Vista Crash at Embarcadero Del Mar and Picasso Road
ISLA VISTA, CA (October 13, 2021) – A bicycle rider was hospitalized after a crash at Embarcadero del Mar and Picasso Road in Isla Vista.
The California Highway Patrol said the incident took place on Wednesday afternoon. According to their dispatch, officers reported the accident at about 5:09 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the bicycle rider for an unknown reason in Isla Vista. The driver hit the bicyclist at the intersection of Embarcadero del Mar and Picasso Road.
Bicyclist Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near El Colegio Road. They found the cyclist hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the victim to the Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The report did not release the name of the wounded victim and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the motorist stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the rider. Officers forced the area of Embarcadero del Mar and Picasso Road to close following the collision.
The cause of the Isla Vista bicycle crash is still under investigation.
