Israel Douglas, 23, ID’s as Suspect in Fresno DUI Crash at Florence and Cedar
FRESNO, CA (November 23, 2021) – Authorities detained Israel Douglas after a DUI crash at Florence and Cedar avenues in Fresno.
Police determined that the man was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck took place on Tuesday evening.
The incident began when Israel Douglas was driving a black Kia in the area of Florence and Cedar avenues in Fresno. At the same time, a black Chevrolet pulled out of an Amazon warehouse.
Police said the Chevrolet then went north on Cedar Avenue. In the process, Israel Douglas struck the other car in the Fresno intersection.
Both cars crossed both lanes of traffic and came to a rest on the west curb line. The Fresno Bee and ABC 30 News wrote that the accident occurred at about 6:15 p.m.
Amazon Employee, 23, Critically Injured in Wreck
The 23-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet, an Amazon-contracted employee, ended up pinned inside the car as a result of the collision
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and extricated the man from the wreckage. He sustained severe head injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed him to Community Regional Medical Center and listed him in critical condition. They also took the three passengers of the Kia for treatment of minor injuries.
The reports did not disclose the names of the wounded patients. Meanwhile, Fresno police arrested Israel Douglas for felony DUI causing great bodily injury and driving while unlicensed.
They soon booked him into the Fresno County jail. The Fresno DUI crash is still under investigation.
