San Bernardino Man, 30, Suspect in DUI Collision Near Border Patrol Checkpoint Monday
Temecula, CA (December 13, 2021) – Police arrested two suspects, including 30-year-old Jaime Alejandro Garcia, in relation with DUI crash on Interstate 15.
According to My News LA, Garcia 28-year-old Karen Vianey Devora were driving on the freeway in a Mini Cooper. The collision happened when Garcia failed to slow down as he approached a Border Patrol checkpoint on the freeway near Rainbow Valley Boulevard.
The article published online mentioned the Mini Cooper drove through the checkpoint stop zone and struck at least one U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent. Due to the force from the impact, the agent became airborne and landed on the traffic lanes of the freeway.
The accident took place at approximately 2:30 a.m.
Our sources mentioned the agent was rushed to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, officer eventually arrested Jaime Garcia and Karen Devora approximately one mile from the collision scene. Police booked the male driver into the Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta on suspicion of driving under the influence, hit-and-run resulting in great bodily injury and DUI resulting in injuries.
Further investigation on the case is underway.
