Vehicle Hits Man Near Holcomb Valley Road
Big Bear, CA (February 25, 2023) – James Halsey, a 32-year-old man, suffered injuries following a traffic collision that occurred on State Route Highway 18, the ABC7 News reported.
Officials said the victim got involved in four subsequent accident along the highway in the area near Holcomb Valley Road. Preliminary investigation revealed just a few weeks ago Halsey was driving on SR-18 when his vehicle started sliding uncontrollably. According to the article published online, Halsey noticed another car coming from the opposite direction so he veered off the roadway to avoid collision. The vehicle of Halsey ended up disabled along the highway.
While waiting for a tow truck, a third car ran into Halsey. The force from the impact sent the man onto the air, and he landed under one of the vehicles.
Our sources indicated the driver of the third car pulled over and rendered aid to Halsey. While helping to the victim, a fourth car hit the wreckage, leaving Halsey pinned between the two vehicles.
Rescue teams later arrived and worked extensively to free the victim. Medical personnel treated James Halsey for wounds to his hand, and other unspecified injuries. An ambulance later transported the victim to the hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
At this time, detectives continue to determine the names of the other drivers involved in the collision. Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
