James Louthian, 48, Badly Hurt in Traffic Collision on Highway 44 Wednesday
Shingletown, CA (August 5, 2021) – James Louthian, a 48-year-old man, suffered serious injuries following a car accident that occurred on Highway 44 on August 4, Wednesday.
The Record Searchlight News reported a 1994 Chevrolet S10 was heading west on the highway at about 1:30 a.m. When the vehicle approached the area near Chateau Drive, the driver allowed the vehicle to leave the road.
Officials said the Chevrolet careened off the south shoulder of the freeway and drove into a ditch. The car came to a rest after slamming into a tree.

When emergency teams arrived at the crash site, they found the driver ejected from the vehicle. Responding paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victim but he sadly succumbed to their injuries and died.
Authorities added the passenger, James Louthian, sustained major trauma as a result of the wreck. Additional details on the injured party have not been discussed thus far.
At this time, investigators continue to determine several factors surrounding the fatal car accident in Shingletown.
