Jamie Fernandez, 40, Injured in Sonora Crash on Mono Way and Highway 108
SONORA, CA (January 11, 2022) – A fatal crash left Jamie Fernandez injured at Mono Way and Highway 108 in Sonora.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 40-year-old Sonora woman as the driver involved in the wreck which took place on Monday.
The incident began when Jamie Fernandez was driving a 2006 Jeep Cherokee east on Mono Way in Sonora. At the same time, a 66-year-old Tuolumne man was riding a 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle west.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
The motorcyclist then made a left turn from Mono Way onto Highway 108. CHP said in the process, the two collided in the intersection.
One of them ran a red light and caused the collision. The Union Democrat and My Mother Lode wrote that the accident occurred on January 10 at about 4:36 p.m.
Jamie Fernandez sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics took her to the Adventist Health Sonora for treatment.
Medical personnel rushed the motorcycle rider to the same hospital, where he died. The cause of the Sonora crash is still under investigation.
