Jessica Hernandez, 41; and Arlene Ochoa, 33, Killed in Madera County Crash
MADERA COUNTY, CA (November 6, 2021) – Jessica Hernandez and Arlene Ochoa were killed after a crash at Avenue 7 and Road 31 in Madera County.
Authorities identified the Firebaugh women as the victims of the fatal wreck which took place on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident happened when 41-year-old Jessica Hernandez and 33-year-old Arlene Ochoa were riding a Nissan SUV in Madera County.
At the same time, a big rig hauling pomegranates was going east on Avenue 7. For an unknown reason, the semi-truck with a set of double trailers veered off the roadway.
Truck Rolls Over Onto Car
The California Highway Patrol said the tractor-trailer went onto the shoulder, spun out of control and then overcorrected. In the process, its two trailers rolled over onto the car.
The two crashed at the intersection with Road 31 on November 3. The Fresno Bee and ABC 30 News wrote that officers reported the wreck at around 4:15 p.m.
Jessica Hernandez and Arlene Ochoa died at the scene of the crash. Loved ones set up a GoFundMe page to help cover the funeral expenses of Arlene Ochoa.
Paramedics arrived and soon provided aid to the driver of the big rig for the minor injuries they sustained in the collision.
Meanwhile, the cause of the Madera County crash is still under investigation.
