Driver Dies in Collision on Mariposa Road Saturday
Hesperia, CA (March 14, 2022) – Joey Paul Catano Sr., a 44-year-old InyoKern resident, suffered fatal injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on on Mariposa Road.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department News reported Catano Sr. was driving a vehicle in the streets of Hesperia Saturday afternoon. For reasons still unclear, the motorist crashed in the 11000 block of Mariposa Road.

The collision resulted in life-threatening injuries to Catano Sr.. Responding paramedics performed CPR to the victim but he sadly succumbed to his injuries. Medical personnel pronounced the man died at the scene around 1:01 p.m.
Several factors surrounding the unfortunate event remained unclear. Given that, detectives continue to work to determine the precise cause of the fatal crash on Mariposa Road in Hesperia.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Hesperia Station is the agency handling the investigation.
