At Least 1 Killed in Collision on Highway 247 Saturday
Johnson Valley, CA (October 9, 2021) – A fatal car crash occurred Saturday evening on State Route 247, also known as Old Woman Springs Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, a green Jeep Cherokee crashed while traveling on the highway in Johnson Valley. The force from the impact reportedly ejected one person, possibly the drive, from the Jeep.
The CHP logged the incident at about 6:30 p.m.
When emergency crews arrived, they found several vehicles stopped at the crash site. Investigators continue to determine if the stopped cars played a role in the collision.

Authorities later pronounced one person dead as a result of the incident. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate exactly how and why the fatal car crash in Johnson Valley happened.
