Jonathan Lopez, 34, Seriously Injured in Wasco Crash Near Magnolia and Kimberlina
WASCO, CA (July 29, 2022) – A crash left Jonathan Lopez seriously injured near Magnolia Avenue and Kimberlina Road in Wasco.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 34-year-old Bakersfield man as the victim of the fatal wreck which took place on Tuesday.
The incident happened when Jonathan Lopez was driving a Toyota RAV4 west on Kimberlina Road, approaching Magnolia Avenue, in Wasco. At the same time, a Honda Accord was going north.
For an unknown reason, the Honda failed to stop at a stop sign and entered the intersection. In the process, the Accord slammed into the Toyota.
2 Killed in Wreck
The Bakersfield Now and Kern Golden Empire wrote that the accident occurred on July 26 at around 9:45 p.m. Jonathan Lopez ended up suffering from moderate injuries as a result of the crash.
Paramedics then rushed him to the Kern Medical for treatment. Meanwhile, the woman riding as a passenger in the Honda ended up ejected from the car due to the impact of the collision.
She and the driver of the Accord died at the scene. The coroner’s office identified the Wasco residents as Claudia Mora Lopez, 32; and Jonathan Prado, 28.
CHP forced the area of Magnolia and Kimberlina to shut down for a time following the wreck. The cause of the Wasco crash is still under investigation.
