Jose Ramirez, 20, ID’d as Suspect in Highway 29 DUI Crash Near Oakville
NAPA COUNTY, CA (January 4, 2022) – Authorities detained Jose Ramirez after a DUI crash on Highway 29 near Oakville in Napa County.
The California Highway Patrol determined that the 20-year-old Napa man was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck took place on Sunday.
The incident began when Jose Angel Ramirez was driving south on Highway 29 near Oakville in Napa County. He then made an unsafe turn into the northbound lane, into oncoming traffic.

CHP said in the process, his car slammed into another vehicle going north at the time. The Napa Valley Register wrote that the accident occurred on January 2 at about 5:30 p.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene. They found two people riding the northbound car hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel treated the patients at the site for the minor injuries they sustained in the wreck. The report did not disclose the names of the wounded victims and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP soon arrested and booked Jose Ramirez into the Napa County Jail on felony DUI charges. The DUI crash near Oakville is still under investigation.
