Juan Martinez, 45, Killed in San Jose Hit-and-Run Near White Road and Hills Drive
SAN JOSE, CA (January 5, 2022) – Juan Martinez was killed after a hit-and-run crash near White Road and Hills Drive in San Jose.
The coroner’s office identified the 45-year-old San Jose man as the victim of the fatal collision which took place on Sunday.
The incident happened when Juan Martinez was crossing near the intersection of South White Road and East Hills Drive in San Jose. At the same time, a vehicle was going north.
Driver Hits Man, Flees Scene
Police said for an unknown reason, the driver hit him. The Mercury News and CBS San Francisco wrote that the accident occurred on January 2 shortly after 8 p.m.
Paramedics arrived and then found Juan Martinez down on the ground. He ended up suffering from serious injuries as a result of the collision.
The pedestrian died at the scene. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the man and fled the area. They described the car as a dark-colored, full-sized SUV.
Officers are still searching for the hit-and-run driver who left Juan Martinez in the roadway. The San Jose hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
