Deadly Car Accident Near 1st Street
Livermore, CA (May 27, 2023) – Juan Moreno Alonso, a 21-year-old man, suffered fatal injuries following a traffic collision that occurred on the Interstate 580 Freeway.
The East Bay Times News reported Alonso, of Concord, was driving a Ford Mustang traveling east on the freeway in Livermore. When the Mustang approached the area near 1st Street, it crashed into Ford F-350 pickup truck. Our sources indicated the force from the impact left the Mustang disabled crosswise in the second lane from the left.
According to the article published online, a 2006 Chevy pickup truck was approaching the crash site. The man behind the wheel of the Chevy failed to slow down and slammed into the front passenger door of the Mustang and subsequently also another Ford Expedition.
Officials said the catastrophic incident took place early Thursday, May 25.
Fatal Traffic Collision on Interstate 580 in Livermore
Shortly after 3:31 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics found the driver unconscious in the Mustang. Despite life-saving measures performed by medical personnel, the victim sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away. Authorities identified the deceased as Juan Moreno Alonso.
The collision also resulted in injuries to the driver of the Chevy. An ambulance rushed the injured motorist to the hospital for treatment of broken bones in both legs.
Meanwhile, the other people involved in the accident appeared unharmed.
Police closed all eastbound lanes of the freeway to give way to the investigation process. At this time, detectives continue to work to determine the precise cause of the deadly crash that happened on Interstate 580 Freeway in Livermore.
