Juan Ortega, 48; and Liliana Cidrojas, 49, ID’d as Suspects in Bakersfield Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 4, 2022) – Officers detained Juan Ortega and Liliana Cidrojas after a hit-and-run crash that killed a boy in Bakersfield.
The California Highway Patrol identified the Bakersfield residents as two of the suspects which happened last week on Tuesday.
The incident began when Juan Rodelas Ortega, 48, was driving a red Chevrolet truck with Liliana Cidrojas, 49, and two others in Bakersfield.
CHP said their car struck a 16-year-old boy who was riding a skateboard at the time. They hit the rider crossing Niles Street at the intersection with Brentwood Drive.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found the teen left lying unconscious in the center median. He sustained critical injuries as a result of the collision.
An air ambulance took the victim to the Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera, where he died. Family members set up a GoFundMe page to help cover his funeral expenses.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the people in the car did not stop to render aid and fled the area. The Bakersfield Now wrote that the accident took place on January 25 between 5:45 a.m. and 6:37 a.m.
Officers soon located them in East Bakersfield. They detained and booked Juan Ortega at the Kern County Main Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run in lieu of a $500,000 bail.
CHP arrested all four of them on suspicion of conspiracy, concealment and destruction of evidence and aiding and abetting, The Bakersfield hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
