Julio Cesar Sanchez, 16, ID’d as Suspect in Fatal Oxnard Hit-and-Run Crash
OXNARD, CA (September 30, 2021) – Authorities detained Julio Sanchez after a fatal hit-and-run crash on Hemlock Street in Oxnard.
Police identified the 39-year-old Oxnard man as the suspect who killed a teen bicyclist in a collision on Wednesday night.
The incident began when Julio Cesar Sanchez was driving a car west on Hemlock Street in Oxnard. At the same time, 16-year-old Port Hueneme boy was riding a bicycle in the same direction.
Oxnard police said for an unknown reason, Julio Sanchez then struck the teen. The KVTA News wrote that the accident took place on September 29 at around 8:30 p.m.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene, east of N Street. They found the young rider left suffering from serious injuries as a result of the crash.
Medical personnel rushed him to the Ventura County Medical Center, where he died. Meanwhile, police affirmed that Julio Sanchez did not stop to help the boy and fled the area.
Officers located his sedan abandoned near Hemlock Street and Paterson Road. They soon arrested Julio Sanchez for felony hit-and run and vehicular manslaughter.
Authorities ultimately booked the suspect into the Ventura County Jail. The Oxnard hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
