Woman Killed in DUI Crash at Convoy and Othello
Kearny Mesa, CA (June 8, 2022) – A woman died following a pedestrian accident that occurred in the area of Convoy Street and Othello Avenue, the San Diego Union-Tribune News reported.
Our sources indicated a 39-year-old man was behind the wheel of a Tesla traveling west on Othello Tuesday morning. For reasons still unclear, the motorist ran a red light at the intersection with Convoy Street. Officials said the Tesla struck a dip, causing the car to go airborne.
According to the article published online, the Tesla landed along Convoy and hit a woman walking in the area. The accident resulted in life-threatening injuries to the female pedestrian. Responding paramedics reportedly transported the patient to the hospital, but she later sadly succumbed to her injuries and died. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, police reportedly arrested the driver of the Tesla on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. Personal information on the suspect have not been discussed thus far.
Detectives continue to work to determine several unclear factors surrounding the deadly crash on Othello Avenue.
