Kevin Rabedew, 30, Critically Injured in Redding Crash at Oasis and Akrich
REDDING, CA (July 22, 2022) – Kevin Rabedew was critically injured after a DUI crash at Oasis Road and Akrich Street in Redding.
Family members identified the 30-year-old Redding man as the victim of the collision which occurred on Sunday.
The incident happened when Kevin Rabedew was driving a Ford Focus west on Oasis Road, approaching Akrich Street, in Redding. At the same time, a Dodge Ram north on Old Oregon Trail.
Police said the pickup truck then slammed into the Ford in the intersection. The Action News Now and KRCRTV News wrote that the accident took place on July 17 at about 8:09 a.m.
Darin Rogers, 61, Arrested
Kevin Rabedew sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash. Paramedics rushed him to the UC Davis Medical Center in critical condition.
Loved ones created a GoFundMe page to help cover the medical bills of the patient. Meanwhile, police determined that the driver of the Dodge was under the influence of alcohol and marijuana at the time.
They soon arrested the suspect, 61-year-old Darin Rogers, on felony DUI charges and causing bodily harm. Officers soon booked the Shasta Lake City man into the Shasta County Jail.
