1 Killed, 1 Hurt in Rollover Collision Near 6th Avenue
Kings County, CA (April 24, 2022) – One person died, and another suffered injuries following a car accident that occurred on Highway 198 Friday evening.
According to ABC30 News, officers spotted a Chevy Camaro traveling at a high rate of speed in the eastbound side of SR-198. On-duty deputies attempted to stop the speeding driver. However, the man behind the wheel of the Chevy Camaro refused to pull over and sped away.
The article published online mentioned the driver of the Chevy Camaro lost control as they approached 6th Avenue. Authorities said the car overturned and slammed into the back of another vehicle.
Due to the force from the impact, the Chevy Camaro and the other vehicle veered off the roadway; and rolled down the embankment.
Responding emergency crews found the driver of the Chevy Camaro lifeless. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Innocent Driver Hospitalized After Car Accident on Highway 198 in Kings County
Meanwhile, the innocent female motorist rear-ended by the speeding Camaro reportedly sustained major injuries as a result of the wreck. Paramedics rushed the woman to the hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
Detectives continue to work at this time to determine the precise cause of the catastrophic incident on Highway 198 in Kings County.
