Scooter Rider Killed in Crash at La Jolla Boulevard and Gravilla Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 11, 2022) – A scooter crash killed a man at La Jolla Boulevard and Gravilla Street in La Jolla.
According to an article published by the ABC 10 News, the tragic accident took place on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 4:30 p.m.
The incident happened when a 90-year-old man was riding a motorized scooter in the La Jolla neighborhood. He was crossing La Jolla Boulevard at 400 Gravilla Street at the time.

Police said for an unknown reason, a white Toyota Camry struck him. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
They found the victim who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then rushed him to a hospital, where he died.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the 80-year-old woman driving the car ended up unharmed.
Officers forced the area of La Jolla and Gravilla to shut down for a time following the incident. The cause of the fatal crash is still under investigation.
