Multi-Vehicle Collision on Kumeyaay Highway Tuesday
La Mesa, CA (June 15, 2021) – A suspected hit-and-run car crash occurred on Interstate 8, also known as Kumeyaay Highway, Tuesday afternoon.
The California Highway Patrol group reported three vehicles collided in the westbound side of the freeway near Highway 125. Authorities described the cars found at the scene as a Nissan Armada. The make and model of the other automobiles involved in the wreck have not been discussed thus far.
Injury Car Accident in La Mesa, June 15
Shortly before 5 p.m., medical personnel arrived at the location and rendered aid to all possible victims. The California Highway Patrol dispatch later confirmed at least one person sustained injuries in the collision. Police continue to withhold information on the injured party pending confirmation.
Preliminary investigation revealed one driver involved in the crash fled the scene before police arrived. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the identity and location of the hit-and-run suspect.
Further investigation on the hit-and-run car crash in La Mesa is underway.
