Motorcyclist Killed in Laguna Hills Hit-and-Run Crash on 5 Freeway Near La Paz
LAGUNA HILLS, CA (February 14, 2022) – A motorcyclist was killed after a hit-and-run crash on the 5 Freeway in Laguna Hills.
According to an article published by The Orange County Register, the tragic accident took place last week on Thursday morning. Officers reported the wreck on February 10 at about 7:38 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol said a 31-year-old man was riding a motorcycle south on the 5 Freeway in Laguna Hills. For an unknown reason, a vehicle struck him.
Driver Hits Rider, Flees Scene
The driver hit the motorcyclist north of La Paz Road. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and then found him down on the ground.
The motorcycle rider died as a result of the collision. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid and fled the area. They described the car as a white SUV which obtained damage to its right side.
Officers forced the southbound lanes of 5 Freeway to shut down near La Paz following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Laguna Hills hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
