Man, 30, Seriously Injured in Lakeside Crash on State Route 67 Near Foster
LAKESIDE, CA (March 30, 2023) – A man was seriously injured after a crash on State Route 67 near Foster Truck Trail in Lakeside.
According to an article published by the San Diego Union Tribune, the accident took place on Wednesday evening. Officers reported the wreck on March 29 at about 5:40 p.m.
The incident happened when a 2019 Honda Civic was going north on State Route 67 at an unsafe speed south of Foster Truck Trail in Lakeside. The car was traveling at around 65-70 mph during wet roadway conditions.
At the same time, a 1996 Toyota Tacoma was heading south. The California Highway Patrol said the Honda then drifted into the southbound lane and spun out of control.
2 Cars Collide
In the process, the Civic went into the path of the Toyota and the two collided. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the 30-year-old San Diego man driving the Tacoma hurt.
He sustained serious injuries a result of the collision. The driver of the Honda, a 25-year-old Ramona woman, survived the incident with minor injuries.
Medical personnel rushed both patients to a hospital for treatment. The report did not release the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound lanes of State Route 67 to shut down near Foster Truck following the wreck. The cause of the Lakeside crash is still under investigation.
