Motorcyclist Killed in Lancaster Crash at Avenue J and 65th Street West

LANCASTER, CA (August 2, 2022) – A crash at Avenue J and 65th Street West killed a motorcyclist in Lancaster.

According to an article published by The Antelope Valley Times, the tragic accident took place on Monday night. Officers reported the wreck on August 1 at around 10:38 p.m.

The incident happened when a man was riding a Harley Davidson west  on Avenue J, approaching 65th Street West, in Lancaster. At the same time, a Honda was going north on 65th Street West.

For an unknown reason, the car failed to yield from a two-way stop sign. In the process, the motorcyclist in his 50s collided with the Honda in the intersection.

Motorcycle and Car Collide

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found the rider down on the ground. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel soon rushed the victim, where he died. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, deputies forced the area of Avenue J and 65th Street West to shut down for a time following the wreck. The report did not mention if the driver of the car stopped or stayed at the site.

The cause of the fatal Lancaster crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the Sheriff’s Station at 661-948-8466.
