Laurie Haynes, 42, Kills Pedestrian in Santa Fe Springs Hit-and-Run Crash
SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA (July 9, 2021) – Authorities detained Laurie Haynes after a fatal hit-and-run crash on Sorensen Avenue in Santa Fe Springs.
Police identified the 42-year-old Santa Fe Springs woman as the suspect of the collision which took place on Wednesday night.
The incident happened when Laurie Haynes struck a male pedestrian with his SUV in Santa Fe Springs. She hit the victim for an unknown reason in the 8700 block of Sorensen Avenue.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found the man in his 60s left lying on the ground. Whittier Daily News wrote that the accident occurred on July 7 at about 10:34 p.m.

Police confirmed that the pedestrian died as a result of the crash. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, officers affirmed that Laurie Haynes did not stop to help the man in the roadway and fled the area. They located him and his car at Telegraph Road and Alburtis Avenue.
Authorities soon arrested Laurie Haynes on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and booked her into the Whittier jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
The fatal Santa Fe Springs hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
