Leonard Leavitt, Several Hospitalized After Collision on Highway 70 Near Maddalena Road Sunday
Plumas, CA (July 28, 2021) – Leonard Leavitt, and his passengers suffered injuries following a suspected DUI car crash on State Route 70 on July 25, Sunday.
According to Plumas News, 69-year-old Leonard Leavitt was driving a 2021 Audi with four passengers. Officials said the Audi crashed head-on into a 2007 Toyota 4-Runner that veered into their path. Our sources indicated the driver of the Toyota allowed the eastbound car to careen into the westbound side of the highway.
The force from the impact caused the Toyota to roll over multiple times before coming to a rest on its wheels. First responders found the Toyota disabled in the north shoulder of Highway 70 near Maddalena Road.
Shortly after 12:38 a.m., medical personnel arrived at the crash site. Paramedics rendered aid to all possible victims in the collision. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed Leonard Leavitt and his four occupants all sustained injuries as a result of the incident. Ambulances transported all five patients to Renown Medical Center for treatment of moderate trauma.

Meanwhile, police reportedly arrested the driver of the Audi for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Further investigation on the case is underway.
