Liem Bui, 71, Killed in Fountain Valley DUI Hit-and-Run Crash on Euclid Avenue
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA (January 15, 2022) – Liem Bui was killed after a DUI hit-and-run crash on Euclid Avenue in Fountain Valley.
Police identified the 71-year-old Santa Ana man as the victim in the fatal collision which took place on Saturday morning.
The incident happened when Liem Bui was riding a bicycle on Euclid Avenue in Fountain Valley. Police for an unknown reason, a vehicle struck him.
The car hit the bicyclist, just north of Heil Avenue. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found the rider left lying in the southbound lanes of Euclid Avenue.
Drunk Driver Hits Bicyclist, Flees Scene
Liem Bui ended up suffering from severe injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel soon pronounced him dead at the scene.
The Orange County Register wrote that the accident occurred at about 5:39 a.m. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the male driver did not stop to render aid to the cyclist and fled the area.
They found her in Westminster and determined that she was under the influence of alcohol at the time. Officers arrested the woman who left Liem Bui on suspicion of felony DUI, felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
The fatal Fountain Valley DUI hit-and-run collision is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the police at 714-593-4481.
