Lisa Brown Victim in Bakersfield Hit-and-Run Near Stockdale and California
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 5, 2021) – Lisa Brown was injured after a DUI hit-and-run crash near Stockdale Highway and California Avenue in Bakersfield.
A GoFundMe page identified the woman and another bicyclist as the victims of the accident which occurred on Saturday night.
The incident happened on May 1 when Lisa Brown and a man were riding their bicycles in Bakersfield. A vehicle approached and hit them in the process.
Police said the male driver involved struck the two riders near the intersection of Stockdale Highway and California Avenue. Kern Golden Empire wrote that the collision took place at around 9:15 p.m.
Bicycle Rider Hit by DUI Driver
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene. They found both Lisa Brown and the other cyclist who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Brown suffered non-life threatening injuries while the man sustained critical injuries. Medical personnel rushed them to a hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop after hitting the two bicyclists and sped away. They soon located him and determined that he was under the influence when he slammed into the bikes.
Officers arrested the man on suspicion of DUI resulting in injuries and hit-and-run involving serious bodily injury. The Bakersfield DUI hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
