Multi-Vehicle Car Accident on I-580
LIVERMORE, Calif. (May 25, 2023) — A fatal Livermore crash on the Interstate 580 Freeway happened early Thursday morning near First Street and the Springtown Boulevard off ramp.
The multi-vehicle crash occurred around 3:31 a.m. on May 25th, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
A driver in a black Ford Mustang allegedly rear-ended a white Ford F-350 pickup truck then slammed into the median barrier, NBC Bay Area reports. The car also collided with a black Ford SUV and a gold Chevrolet Silverado.
The multi-vehicle crash occurred in the No. 1 and HOV lanes. The Mustang wound up sidewalks in traffic lanes.
Several people were injured in the crash and paramedics responded to help them. However, the driver of the Mustang died at the scene.
The Alameda County Sheriff Coroner responded and police are investigating what caused the Livermore crash on the 580 Freeway as well as liability.
