Motorcyclist Killed in Long Beach Crash at Atlantic Avenue and 19th Street
LONG BEACH, CA (September 17, 2022) – A crash killed a motorcyclist at Atlantic Avenue and 19th Street in Long Beach.
According to the Long Beach Post and My News LA, the tragic accident took place on Friday night. Officers reported the wreck at around 9:17 p.m.
The incident happened on September 16 when a man was riding a motorcycle south on Atlantic Avenue, approaching 19th Street, in Long Beach.
At the same time, a 2014 Toyota Tundra was going east on 19th Street. The car then tried to make a left turn onto northbound Atlantic and pulled out in front of the rider.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
Police said in the process, the pickup truck and the motorcyclist collided. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man down on the ground.
The victim sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel soon rushed him to a hospital, where he died.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. The cause of the fatal Long Beach crash is still under investigation.
Meanwhile, police did not mention if the 59-year-old Long Beach man driving the Tundra ended up hurt or if they stopped following the wreck.
