Man, 37, Killed in Long Beach Hit-and-Run at Artesia Boulevard and Rose Avenue
LONG BEACH, CA (February 8, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian at Artesia Boulevard and Rose Avenue in Long Beach.
According to The Press Telegram and My News LA, the tragic accident took place late Monday night. Officers reported the collision on February 7 at about 11:15 p.m.
The incident happened when a male pedestrian was standing in the eastbound lanes of Artesia Boulevard, just west of Rose Avenue, in Long Beach.
At the same time, a dark-colored sedan was going east. Police said for an unknown reason, the car then hit him in the intersection.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found the 37-year-old Long Beach man left lying on the ground. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon rushed the victim to a hospital, where he died. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver of the sedan did not stop to render aid to the man and fled eastbound on Artesia. They believed that speed played a role in the incident.
Officers forced the corner of Artesia Boulevard and Rose Avenue to shut down for a time following the collision. The fatal Long Beach hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
