1 Killed, 1 Injured in Fiery Collision on Interstate 405 Friday
Long Beach, CA (January 15, 2022) – One person died, and another suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 405 Freeway.
According to On Scene TV, a box truck crashed for an unknown reason on the freeway in Long Beach Friday evening. Officials said the big rig caught fire after the collision.
The article published online mentioned multiple parties ended up trapped in the fiery wreckage. However, bystanders reported at least one person apparently managed to climb out of the burning box truck.
When emergency crews arrived at the site, they found the big rig fully engulfed. Firefighters worked extensively to put out the fire and extricate the victims.
Deadly Truck Accident in Long Beach, January 14
Authorities later confirmed one person sadly died as a result of the incident. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Officers added they transported another person to the local trauma center for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Several factors surrounding the incident have not been discussed thus far. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the deadly truck crash on Interstate 405 in Long Beach.
