4 Injured in Los Alamos Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 101 and Alisos Canyon
LOS ALAMOS, CA (March 8, 2022) – Several were critically injured after a wrong-way crash on Highway 101 and Alisos Canyon Road in Los Alamos.
According to an article published by the Noozhawk News, the accident took place on Tuesday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 7:40 p.m.
The incident began when a vehicle was traveling south in the northbound lanes of Highway 101 in Los Alamos. The wrong-way driver then caused two collisions.
The first accident occurred at Alisos Canyon Road, while the other happened with a white utility truck near Highway 154.
Wrong-Way Driver Prompts 2 Crashes
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and extricated the trapped occupants from the wreckage. A total of four people ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Three of the patients sustained critical injured and the fourth person survived with minor injuries. An air ambulance took one of them to the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
Ground ambulances rushed the others the hospital for treatment. The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, officers forced the northbound side of Highway 101 to shut down following the wreck. The Los Alamos wrong-way crash is still under investigation.
