Major Injury Collision on West Side (5) Freeway Wednesday
Los Banos, CA (May 12, 2021) – At least one person suffered injuries following a traffic accident on Interstate 5, also known as West Side Freeway, early Wednesday.
The California Highway Patrol group reported a semi truck and a Ford pickup collided in the northbound side of 5 Freeway. Initial records indicated the crash took place near State Route 165 at approximately 4:20 a.m.
When emergency teams arrived at the location, they found the semi truck disabled on the right-hand shoulder of the interstate. Meanwhile, the Ford pickup came to a rest in the slow lane of freeway, blocking traffic.

Responding paramedics immediately checked the conditions of all people found at the crash site. After the evaluation, officials confirmed one person suffered major trauma as a result of the collision. Additional details on the victim have not been discussed thus far.
