Lost Hills crash Highway 46 McCombs
1 Killed, 1 Injured in Lost Hills Crash Near Highway 46 and McCombs Avenue
LOST HILLS, CA (April 21, 2022) – A head-on crash killed one person and injured another on Highway 46 and McCombs Avenue near Lost Hills.
According to an article published by the Bakersfield Now, the tragic accident took place on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at around 2:40 p.m.
The incident began when a semi-crane truck was going west on Highway 46 near McCombs Avenue in Lost Hills. At the same time, a van was traveling east.
Semi-Truck and Van Collide
The California Highway said for an unknown reason, the two collided head-on. A CHP dispatch described the van as a 2000 green Toyota Sienna.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and confirmed that the driver of the van died as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the operator of the semi-truck to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, CHP forced Highway 46 to shut down in both directions near McCombs Avenue following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Lost Hills crash is still under investigation.
