Lucia Rodriguez Lopez, 36, Killed in Santa Ana Pedestrian Crash on 1st Street
SANTA ANA, CA (June 6, 2022) – Lucia Rodriguez Lopez was killed after a pedestrian crash on 1st Street in Santa Ana.
The coroner’s office identified the 36-year-old Santa Ana woman as the victim in the fatal collision which took place on Saturday night.
The incident happened when Lucia Rodriguez Lopez and her husband were crossing West 1st Street in Santa Ana. At the same time, a vehicle was going west.
Police said for an unknown reason, the driver hit them in the 4700 block of the road. The Orange County Register and My News LA the accident occurred on June 4 at around 8:30 p.m.
Man Seriously Injured in Collision
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and found both victims down on the ground. Lucia Lopez died at the scene of the pedestrian accident.
The man sustained critical injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel rushed him to a hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the couple. Officers forced a stretch of 1st Street to shut down for a time following the accident.
