Macario David Herrera Killed in Barstow Pedestrian Accident

Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Interstate 40

Barstow, CA (June 3, 2023) – Macario David Herrera, a 49-year-old Apple Valley resident, died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on the Interstate 40 Freeway.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department reported a male party was hit by a vehicle in the westbound side of the freeway near the E. Main Street offramp in Barstow. The make and model of the car involved in the horrible crash have not been revealed thus far.

Our sources indicated the collision took place on May 30, Tuesday, around 9:42 p.m.

Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Barstow

When rescue teams arrived at the location, they found the pedestrian suffering in serious injuries. Responding paramedics rendered first aid to the victim then transported them to Barstow Community Hospital for treatment. At approximately 10:15 p.m., the patient sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away. Authorities later identified the deceased as Macario David Herrera.

Detectives handling the case continue to investigate the precise circumstances that led up to the deadly accident that happened on Interstate 40 Freeway in Barstow.
