2 Killed in Madera County Crash at Avenue 7 and Road 31

MADERA COUNTY, CA (November 3, 2021) – A big rig crash killed two people at Avenue 7 and Road 31 in Madera County.

According to The Fresno Bee and Your Central Valley, the fatal accident took place on Wednesday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at around 4:15 p.m.

The incident began when a semi-truck hauling pomegranates was going east on Avenue 7, approaching Road 31, in Madera County. At the same time, a Nissan SUV was traveling west.

Big Rig Rolls Over Onto Car

For an unknown reason, the big rig with a set of double trailers left the roadway and went onto the shoulder. The tractor-trailer spun out of control and overcorrected.

The California Highway Patrol said the two trailers then rolled over onto the SUV. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and pronounced two occupants of the Nissan dead at the scene.

Medical personnel treated the driver of the truck for the minor injuries they sustained in the wreck. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.

Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Avenue 7 and Road 31 to shut down for several hours following the incident. The cause of the Madera County crash is still under investigation.
