1 Killed, 3 Seriously injured in Madera County Crash at Highway 41 and Road 208
MADERA COUNTY, CA (October 20, 2022) – A crash at Highway 41 and Road 208 killed one person and seriously injured several others in Madera County.
According to the FOX 26 News and Your Central Valley, the tragic accident took place on Thursday evening. Officers reported the wreck at around 6:30 p.m.
The incident happened when a black Mini Cooper was traveling east on Road 208, approaching Highway 41, in Madera County. At the same time, a gold Toyota Tacoma was going south on the highway.
The California Highway Patrol said the Mini Cooper either failed to stop at the posted stop sign or pulled out from the stop sign into the path of the Toyota.
Dog Dead After Wreck
In the process, the Tacoma broadsided the subcompact car. Firefighters soon arrived and pronounced the woman and a dog in the Mini Cooper dead at the scene.
The male occupant of the same vehicle survived the collision with major injuries. A helicopter then took him to a hospital for treatment.
The two men riding the Toyota sustained moderate to major injuries as a result of the incident. A ground ambulance rushed them for further aid.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, CHP forced Highway 41 to shut down for an hour and a half in both directions near Road 208 following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Madera County crash is still under investigation.
