Pedestrian Injured in Malibu Crash on Pacific Coast Highway Near Mall
MALIBU, CA (August 25, 2022) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after a crash on Pacific Coast Highway near a mall in Malibu.
According to an article published by the KTLA News, the accident took place on Thursday evening. Officers reported the collision at about 7 p.m.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department said a vehicle struck a male pedestrian near the Malibu Colony Plaza shopping mall. The driver hit him in the 22000 block of the Pacific Coast Highway.
Man Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found the man who ended up hurt as a result of the accident.
An air ambulance then flew the patient to a trauma center for treatment of unspecified injuries. The report did not release the name of the wounded party and his condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police did not mention if the driver stopped or stayed at the site after hitting the man. Officers forced the No. 1 lane of Pacific Coast Highway to shut down near the mall following the incident.
The cause of the Malibu pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
